Review:

Double Victor Borge, add Henny Youngman and Jack Benny with their violins -- but make the latter much larger, and then get ready for some outstanding, original humor based on cliches in musical performance, comedy, lighting and special effects. The name of the super pair, "La Framboise Frivole," is the same as that of their presentation, to which they add some tuxedoed pomposity and then shoot it down.

At the center of a show that takes off in every direction from satire to silliness is a send up of "Peter and the Wolf" morphed into theater of the absurd and then, literally, blown up. Their promise to "dynamite the repertoire" is kept figuratively as well as actually. Both performers are at the top of their game musically, both singing and playing their instruments. They also interact using minimal dialogue for maximum effect. No wonder they're drawing huge crowds -- who're falling down even off the strapotins with laughter.
